Thank you for taking a moment to look over our committees. We hope that you strongly consider participating. It’s through these teams that we raise the quality of life in our community. As the saying goes “team work makes the dream work” and we have big dreams for you and our community.

Education and Workforce Development

Objective: Support all local education systems, organizations and agencies. Provide an open format that allows for educational issues and topics to be presented.

Membership: Open to any Chamber Investor

Goals:

  • To seek support education in Guthrie by partnering each school with different businesses.
  • To support educational programs such as elementary school mentoring.
  • To provide information to the Chamber Guthrie Legislation Committee on education issues.
  • To host a new teacher welcome activity (luncheon, gift bag giveaway).
  • To host a support staff appreciation day. To hold a “Stuff the Bus” school supply collection event.
  • To provide support to the school food pantry program. To conduct on-site visits of our local schools.
  • To keep our Chamber Investors informed about school bond progress.

Meeting Date: 3rd Thursday of each month- 4:00 p.m., various school sites during the school year.

Guthrie Chamber Business Development Council

Objective: Support and enhance Guthrie’s business community in the areas of business development, education, communication and networking opportunities through specific programs and activities directed to the needs of business.

Membership: Open to any Chamber Investor

Goals:

  • To plan and coordinate activities, including at educational workshops, to meet the current needs of business.
  • To publish the Guthrie Business Council Tip Sheet to be included in an email blast, blog and social media.

Meeting Date: TBD

Guthrie Chamber Legislative Committee

Objective: Support and enhance Guthrie’s business community by being aware of current Legislation, communicating with our legislators and providing the community a voice through open forums.

Membership: Open to any Chamber Investor

Goals:

  • To plan and coordinate open forums with State representatives and local councilmen and women.
  • To stay up to date on current legislation that effects the business community.
  • To communicate the communities opinions to our representatives on applicable legislation.

Committee Chair: Chris Evans

Leadership Guthrie

Objective: Develop a pool of committed well-informed leaders who will actively participate in the growth of the community by accepting leadership roles in civic, charitable, or government organizations.

Membership: Open to any chamber member by selection process

Meeting Date: Monthly, August through May
