Bluejay
Tell us about your business.
We have developed an app that will humanize the driver and police officer during a routine traffic stop. BlueJay offers real-time help and information to all parties involved, building trust and confidence for a smooth and respectful exchange.
What brought your business to Guthrie?
We deliberately selected Guthrie because of its community population and the size of the police department. As the first capital of Oklahoma, Guthrie brings historical context and will be the first to experience the future of policing in our great state. It’s also pretty cool that our first client mascot is the Bluejay!
How long has your business been in operation?
We’ve been working on addressing the issue of safety and peace of mind during a traffic stop for the past four years. Speaking with a variety of populations about their concerns and working with police departments, we continue to develop ideas to meet needs and provide services through our app.
Tell us a little about the background of your business.
The background of the business consists of three founders, Curt Foster, Chris Foster (son), and James Foster (cousin) who all have a common goal to bring peace of mind. Recognizing that traffic stops can cause anxiety and bring concerns about safety for both the driver and officer, we wanted to provide a solution to a wide spread community need.
What makes your business stand out from other businesses offering similar services or products?
There are many apps available addressing police interaction. We’re the ONLY app in the USA that has a two-sided platform that provides communication and information about the driver and police officer. We are intentionally proactive and supportive to provide a positive experience during a stressful event.
How do you like to spend your days off?
I’m a sports, music and movie fanatic. The weekends are my time to put work aside and enjoy the excitement that comes with football and basketball season.
